Neurotoxins

J'ADORE

Neurotoxins

The first signs of aging usually show up on the face. As we get older, our skin gets less elastic, and lines start forming.

When you have strong expression lines on your face, wrinkles are likely to appear. Neurotoxins are a safe and effective way to rejuvenate the face.

Neurotoxin is most commonly used to treat facial lines and wrinkles. It’s also used for a variety of other medical purposes. Neurotoxins improve your look and prevent wrinkles by relaxing the muscles in your face. You can use it for moderate to deep wrinkles and prevent fine lines and wrinkles from forming.

Ways you can use Neurotoxin include:

• Remove aging signs
• Correct crossed eyes
• Get rid of migraines
• Stop sweating excessively
• Relieve muscle tension
• and more.

What are Neurotoxins?

Neurotoxins is an injection that works as a muscle relaxant and is used by millions worldwide to smooth out wrinkles caused by movement. Botox, Jeuveau, Dysport, and Xeomin is the brand name for a toxin made by Clostridium botulinum, a bacterium.

Using this popular injection, you’ll be able to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, look younger and fresher. You can also use it to lift your eyebrows and your mouth corners.

This non-surgical treatment uses injections to paralyze the facial muscles, which relaxes the skin. Medical and cosmetic industries have been using it for years, and it’s proven to be safe and effective.

Who Is The Best Candidate For Neurotoxin Treatment?

Neurotoxins were first used for cosmetic purposes in 2002. It’s usually injected around the eyes or on the forehead. You’ll usually use Neurotoxins to eliminate forehead wrinkles, frown lines between your eyes, and crow’s feet around your eyes.

Patients find that Neurotoxins work safely and effectively at reducing wrinkles, but they also get fewer headaches once it takes effect.

FDA (The Food and Drug Administration) says a good candidate for Neurotoxins is someone who is at least 18 years old, is physically healthy, and does not have a history of neuromuscular diseases (like multiple sclerosis).

What To Avoid After Neurotoxins?

Neurotoxins is a simple procedure you can keep doing over and over. It takes about 10-20 minutes from start to finish. One Neurotoxin treatment lasts about 3-4 months. You can increase or decrease wrinkle-removing effectiveness by what you do after a Neurotoxin treatment. You’ll get the most bang out of Neurotoxin injections if you follow these tips:

  • Don’t Rub or Massage Your Face
  • Do not bend down or lay down for 4 hours after receiving the treatment
  • Wait 24 Hours to Exercise
  • Avoid Certain Medications
  • Keep Out of the Sun
  • Don’t Sleep Facedown

How Long Does It Last?

This treatment mostly lasts for 3 to 6 months. The reason is that our skin cells keep regenerating, and the fine lines return once the treatment period is over. Due to muscle shrinkage, the lines will be prominent, so maintenance would be required. This is also a preventative treatment, by treating wrinkles before they emerge this will equal more longevity as you age along with a good home care regimen.

Post- Treatment Instructions Botox/Dysport/Xeomin/Jeuveau

POST CARE

  • For the first 5-6 hours following treatment, remain upright and periodically perform facial movements in the areas of injections in order to work the neurotoxin into the muscle – e.g., smile, squint, etc.
  • Do not participate in activities that include heavy lifting, vigorous exercise, straining, or laying down/bending over for 4 hours (it takes approximately 4 hours for Botox to bind to the nerve and you do not want to increase circulation during that time).
  • Do not rub, touch, or manipulate neurotoxin for 6 hours.
  • Avoid irritating products for 24 hours following neurotoxin.
  • Make-up may be applied gently before leaving the office, remember to wipe up and away from your eyes or brows.
  • Bruising in the area injected is normal and often expected, especially if treated around the eyes. Bruising can last up to several weeks. Using/taking Arnica may help diminish bruising.
  • It may take up to 14 days for neurotoxin to take full effect.
  • A follow-up visit at 10 days to 2 weeks is suggested to assess results for subsequent treatments, particularly if you are a first time client. If full correction is not achieved, you will need to purchase additional units of neurotoxin for injection.
  • Re-treatment is typically needed between 2-6 months.
  • Regular injections usually yield a longer lasting neurotoxin result.
  • If your upper lip was treated you may not be able to drink through a straw, whistle, or enunciate some words for approximately 2 weeks., but possibly longer.
  • Although rare, infection in the injected area is possible. Signs of infection may include redness and tenderness in the infected area and fever. Should you develop an infection, antibiotics may be necessary. Please contact us should you have any concerns.
  • You may purchase Arnica gel OTC to use post treatment for any bruising as needed.

If you have ANY questions or concerns, please call our office during business hours.
