Chemical Peels

J'ADORE

Chemical Peels

We have all wished to have visibly smoother and glowing skin. Many medical treatments have recently been available to restore your youthful appearance and treat skin-related issues. Our providers recommend using chemical peels to eliminate wrinkles, fine lines, acne, acne scars, dark spots, pigmentation, and overall even the texture and tone of your skin.

If you’re looking for a medical spa in Orlando where you can have a variety of options including chemical peels to rejuvenate your skin, J’adore Beauty and Aesthetics can provide you with the best possible options. We have facial specialists and providers to provide our clients with their desired results.

What is Chemical Peel-A Brief Overview?

Chemical peel (formally known as a liquid exfoliant) is a medical grade cosmetic treatment which improves the skin’s texture. During the treatment, our provider applies the chemical solution to the treatment area, which causes the skin to exfoliate on a deeper level. Your dead skin cells will start to flake and peel on day 3, which will then reveal new and fresh skin by day 7 or 8. It can take up to 1-2 weeks to see the full results of the chemical peel. The treatment removes the damaged top and outermost layer of your skin to reduce the uneven skin tone, texture, acne scars, acne, fine lines, and wrinkles, reproduces collagen and elastin and overall rejuvenates and hydrates the skin.

There are several chemical peels, including light peel, medium peel, and deep peels. The provider will recommend which peel is best based on what your areas of concerns are.

Chemical Peel Pre & Post Op Instructions

POST-Treatment Instructions

For 2 days post procedure:

  • Stay cool! Heat exposure can cause hyperpigmentation.
  • Do not expose treated area directly into a hot shower.
  • Do not use hot tubs, steam rooms or saunas.
  • Do not go swimming.
  • Do not participate in activities that would cause excessive perspiration.
  • Do not use loofahs or other means of exfoliation.
  • Do not direct a hair dryer onto the treated area.
  • Do not apply ice to the treated area.

General guidelines:

  • After receiving a chemical peel, the skin may look and feel like a mild sunburn for the next 2-3 days. After 48 hours, a slight flaking may occur for 3-5 days which can easily be controlled with moisturizers.
  • It is recommended that makeup not be applied the day of treatment, as it is ideal to allow the skin to stabilize.
  • To minimize side effects and maximize results, use the post procedure solution for 3-5 days or until flaking has resolved.
  • Moisturizer should be applied at least twice a day but can be applied more frequently for hydration and to decrease the appearance of flaking.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure and excessive heat. SPF 30 or greater must be used daily.
  • Tanning beds should not be used. This practice should be discontinued due to increased risk of skin cancer and premature aging.
  • Do not pick or pull on any loosening skin. This could potentially cause hyperpigmentation.

Do not have any other facial treatment for at least 1 week after your peel. You may ONLY resume the regular use of: retinoids, alpha-hydroxy acid, beta hydroxy acid, vitamin C or bleaching creams after 7 days.

Pre Op Care

For best results, sun exposure must be avoided. The following products & procedures should be avoided at least 1 week prior to your treatment:

  • Electrolysis
  • Waxing
  • Depilatory creams
  • Laser hair removal
  • Any exfoliating products
  • Any products that may be drying or irritating, including products containing salicylic acid, alpha hydroxy acids, vitamin c, hydroquinone, retinoids, and prescription medications.
  • Do not shave the area that is being treated.

Light Peel

A light chemical peel uses mild acids and only exfoliates the outermost layer of the skin.

Medium Peel

It uses medium chemicals such as glycolic or trichloroacetic acid and penetrates the middle and outermost layers of the skin. One of our popular medium depth peels is called the Perfect Derma Peel. This peel can be used on the face, body, and intimate area.

Deep Peel

Deep chemical peels use very strong acids and fully penetrate the middle and outermost layers of the skin to remove the damaged cells.

J’adore Beauty and Aesthetics experts provide a consultation before starting the chemical peel. They recommend some pre-procedure instruction, such as;

  • Avoid any drying or irritating products on the skin before starting the procedure
  • Use reparative/hydrating products during your treatment
  • Avoid using exfoliants and scrubs a week before the procedure

Benefits Of a Chemical Peel

A chemical peel can provide amazing skin rejuvenating benefits, which are;

Minimizes the appearance of pore size

Diminishes fine lines/ wrinkles, tightens the skin and reproduces collagen

Treats acne scars and acne

Fades discoloration and dark spots

Removes uneven textures and evens your tone

Smoothens the skin

Is Chemical Peel Safe or Not?

Yes, chemical peels are safe, as long as they are performed by a knowledgeable professional. It is never recommended to do one at home, unless advised by your medical professional. It is always recommended to see a licensed professional because they have been trained to perform deeper treatments and can make sure the process of the peel is going as needed. As mentioned earlier, a chemical peel consists of all natural ingredients but may cause certain side effects, including;

  • Allergic reactions
  • Scarring
