Microneedling

J'ADORE

Microneedling

Fine lines and facial wrinkles are the most common factors that make a person look older. If you have started to notice that your skin doesn’t look as youthful as it once did and there are wrinkles that bother you, then we have a perfect medical treatment for you which is Microneedling.

We at J’adore Beauty and Aesthetics have certified practitioners to provide the best Microneedling procedure to our clients. Before starting the procedure, we ensure our clients know all about the procedure.

What is Microneedling-A Brief Overview?

Microneedling is a non-invasive treatment to treat skin concerns effectively. This process takes advantage of the body's natural healing response and stimulates the production of new collagen, which decreases as we age. Microneedling (collagen induction therapy) helps reduce acne scars, dark spots, fine lines/wrinkles, scars and improves skin elasticity. It is also useful to promote hair growth in people with alopecia.

Microneedling causes a minor injury to the skin, and the skin responds by creating new collagen tissues. These collagen-enrich tissues help to get youthful and firmer skin. Before the procedure, it is crucial to make sure you do not take any anti-inflammatory drugs, antihistamines, topical antibiotics, retinols and exfoliants because we want the inflammatory response and do not want to cause any irritation to the skin. Before starting Microneedling, the providers apply a topical anesthetic to numb the treatment area. The skinpen creates small wounds by pricking needles under your skin during the procedure. The microchannels start a natural healing process in the body, stimulating the production of new collagen.

J'adore Beauty and Aesthetics skin specialists prepare you for Microneedling and recommend pre-treatment instructions. For instance, they recommend avoiding certain medications (Accutane and ibuprofen) and some agents that can increase your skin's sensitivity.

Microneedling Pre & Post Care

What to expect after your treatment:

  • Immediate pinpoint bleeding may occur, which will resolve within 10 minutes
  • Minor redness and swelling will occur for 1-2 days
  • Minor peeling and flakiness will occur after a few days. Don’t pick at the loose skin
  • Call our office if you experience excessive redness, swelling, pain or drainage as they might indicate an infection

Post-Care

  • The initial 72 hours post-procedure are the most critical.
  • Avoid direct sun and head. This includes simple day-to-day tasks such as gardening, cooking over a hot stove for a long period of time, sitting next to a bonfire or fireplace, etc.
  • Discontinue use of any Alpha-Hydroxy products. You may resume your skin regimen when skin is no longer flaking and peeling.
  • Use hydrating and reparative products. Products rich in soothing and healing ingredients are best to encourage new, healthy cell growth. Peptides, antioxidants, stem cells, Vitamin C, and E, and growth factors work very well.
  • Use physical sunscreen. Sun care products should be applied no less than every 30-90 minutes. DO NOT go outside without sun protection (even on a cloudy day).
  • No scratching or peeling.
  • Limit exercise the first week.
  • Drink plenty of water.

Pre-Care

  • Avoid Vitamin E, fish oils, and Ginkgo Biloba for one week prior to treatment
  • Avoid Aspirin 1 week before treatment
  • Avoid anti-histamine and inflammatory drugs once week prior to treatment. These negate the effects of the procedure. The body’s histamine and inflammatory responses are needed post procedure.
  • Stop Laser Hair Removal, Electrolysis, Waxing, and Depilatory creams 1 week prior to treatment
  • Stop topical retinoids (tretinoin and retinoic acid (Retin-A, Renova, Refissa)) 1 week prior to treatment
  • If using Accutane, a 3 month waiting period after discontinuation of medication is required.
  • Please notify our office if you have ever been diagnosed with Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV)- You may require prophylactic therapy

Microneedling

Microneedling is more effective as they help to heal wounds and injuries rapidly. The Microneedling is plasma which has a higher concentration of platelets. Microneedling decreases the downtime patients need after the treatment and reduces wrinkles.

Is it safe to undergo the Microneedling Treatment ?

The involvement of needles makes the procedure look uncomfortable, but the procedure is comfortable and safe. Microneedling is FDA-approved, but it also carries minor risks like other medical treatments. Some commonly reported side effects of Microneedling are;

• Allergic reactions
• Irritation immediately after the treatment
• Bleeding

At J'adore Beauty and Aesthetics, our experts say you need good health and an immune system to take this treatment. Microneedling may not suit you if you;

• Have open wounds

What to expect after getting Microneedling treatment?

Being a non-invasive medical treatment, Microneedling has minimal recovery time. You may experience redness and inflammation for a few days after the procedure. The skin can flake and peel for 4-5 days but does subside. Our experts suggest avoiding direct sun exposure for about two weeks after the treatment.
